At India Bike Week 2023, Kawasaki has introduced the W175 Street, a retro-style motorcycle. Priced starting at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory), the Kawasaki W175 Street features new elements including alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and fresh color options.
Compared to the existing W175 model, the W175 Street has undergone both cosmetic and mechanical updates. Notable changes include two new paint choices – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Grey, each adorned with unique graphics on the fuel tank. The Street variant also sports new 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tires, distinguishing it from the standard W175 with its spoke wheels and tube-type tires.
In terms of mechanics, the W175 Street exhibits minor variations from the standard W175. It has a lower ground clearance of 152 mm (compared to the standard W175’s 165 mm) and a slightly reduced seat height at 786.5 mm (versus 790 mm). Additionally, it features a smaller 245 mm front disc brake, down from the standard W175’s 270 mm.
The engine remains consistent, retaining the 177 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit that generates 12.9 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 13.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.
