Dutch coachbuilder Heritage Customs has initiated production of the Land Rover Defender convertible, with the second unit already in progress at its Enter facility in the Netherlands. Heritage Customs plans to construct only five examples of this Defender convertible.
Derived from the latest L663-generation Defender 90, the Valiance Convertible undergoes significant modifications to incorporate a sixth seat, forged wheels, bespoke leather trim, sports seats, and various alterations to its interior and exterior.
Finished in Sunbeam Yellow paint with black accents, including the roll cage, front bonnet plates, and side air vents, the Valiance Defender features a handmade and electronically controlled fabric top. Inside, black quilted upholstery, aluminum paneling, and an additional center passenger seat adorn the front row, complemented by yellow stitching matching the exterior paintwork.
Co-owner Niels van Roij stated that the convertible “embraces the [Defender] 90 body style and the history of this motor car in its previous generation, with the charming soft-top.”
This isn’t van Roij’s first venture into unconventional coachbuilt models. The Dutch designer previously introduced a Rolls-Royce Wraith-based shooting brake and an estate-bodied Tesla Model S.
Heritage announces that the Valiance Convertible precedes another drop-top conversion, described as the “next iteration of the Heritage Customs Valiance Convertible,” set to be unveiled in the coming months.
