According to recent reports, Bajaj is gearing up to unveil the much-anticipated Bajaj Pulsar NS400 within the next couple of months. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, revealed in an interview with a TV channel that the company plans to introduce its “largest Pulsar yet” at the commencement of FY25, likely falling in the period between April and May 2024. This announcement follows the recent launch of the updated Pulsar NS200, now equipped with LED headlamps and a new TFT digital console.
The Bajaj NS400 is expected to inherit design cues from the current NS lineup but with distinctive styling elements, potentially including a revamped tank, redesigned headlamp, and fresh color options to enhance its sporty appeal. Although the specifics of the digital console remain uncertain, it may feature similarities to the updated Pulsar NS200.
In terms of components, anticipate the NS400 to incorporate a USD fork setup in the front and a monoshock at the rear, along with disc brakes on both ends. While wheel design is anticipated to mirror that of the NS models, the tires may feature chunkier profiles.
Regarding its powertrain, speculations indicate a modified version of the 373.3 cc single-cylinder engine from the Dominar 400, currently generating 39.5 bhp and 35 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Bajaj aims to position the NS400 below the Dominar 400 in terms of pricing. The Dominar 400, the company’s flagship offering, is presently priced around Rs 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Therefore, the Bajaj NS400 is projected to fall within the Rs 2-2.2 lakh price range (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable sub-400cc motorcycles on the market.
