BMW 7 Series Honored with Premium Car of the Year Award at ICOTY 2024

The BMW 7 Series secured the top spot and was named the Premium Car of the Year 2024 at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards. This victory came after a closely contested competition, with the Mercedes-Benz GLC taking second place and the BMW X1 claiming the third spot on the podium. The premium car category featured strong contenders such as the BMW X1, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Range Rover Sport, Lexus RX, Volvo C40 Recharge, Lexus LX, and the BMW 7 Series.

Launched in 2023, the all-new 7 Series represents the latest generation of BMW’s flagship sedan. It features a distinctive design with a prominent new kidney grille, an extensively updated feature list, and is available with both diesel and petrol powertrains.

Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, expressed gratitude to the ICOTY jury members for recognising the BMW 7 Series as a clear winner. He described the seventh generation of the 7 Series as a symbol of progress, challenging the ordinary and embodying a unique quality that sets it apart. Pawah emphasised that the all-new 7 Series represents the face of the new luxury class, captivating with its presence, progressiveness, and emotional appeal.

The ICOTY 2024 jury, consisting of automotive experts from various publications, played a crucial role in evaluating and selecting the winners. The diverse panel included representatives from Carwale.com, autoX, Auto Today, Car India, Evo India, Motoring World, Overdrive, Times Auto, Cardekho.com/Zigwheels, Turbocharged, Powerdrift, and The Print.
