BYD is set to introduce its third product, the Seal EV, in India on March 5, offering exclusive details about its specifications. The Seal will arrive as a full import with dealers already accepting unofficial bookings since its showcase at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Equipped with an 82.5kWh battery pack and rear-wheel drive, the Seal boasts a claimed range of 570km on the WLTP cycle, powered by a 230hp and 360Nm permanent magnet synchronous motor. Charging capabilities include speeds up to 150kW, with 10-80 percent charge achieved in just 37 minutes.
Featuring design cues from the Ocean X concept, the Seal showcases a coupe-like all-glass roof, boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen inside. Expected to be priced around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Seal rivals competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the Indian market.
