Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the highly anticipated Xoom 160 scooter in India at the Hero World 2024 event. This scooter made its global debut at the 2023 EICMA Show in Italy.
The Xoom 160 marks Hero MotoCorp’s entry into the segment of larger scooters. Currently, there are no such scooters available in the Indian market, and Hero aims to pioneer this category. While some Japanese and European manufacturers offer similar scooters, they are primarily targeted at European and US markets.
The Xoom 160 boasts a striking design, characterized by its tall body proportions. It features a prominent windscreen, V-shaped headlights, and an adventure motorcycle-inspired beak at the front. The presence of a central spine gives it a maxi-scooter appearance from the side. To enhance its touring capabilities, the scooter offers a single seat and ample floorboard space. Hero also plans to provide large top boxes as optional accessories.
Powering the Hero Xoom 160 is a newly developed 156cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. While specific power figures have not been disclosed, they are expected to be revealed soon. The scooter features regular telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, front and rear disc brakes mounted on 14-inch wheels with block-pattern tires. Its list of features includes LED lighting, a smart key system, ignition dial, remote key ignition, and a smart finder feature.
Hero MotoCorp aims to launch the Xoom 160 within the next six months, with an anticipated price of around Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The scooter will be available in a variety of attractive colors and will offer a wide range of accessories.
