Maruti Suzuki has reintroduced the Brezza with its mild-hybrid technology in manual transmission form. In July 2023, Maruti had quietly reconfigured the Brezza lineup, removing the mild-hybrid technology from the manual versions of the compact SUV. The company has now re-launched this fuel-saving technology, specifically on higher-spec variants, with prices starting at Rs 11.05 lakh.
The Brezza MT ZXI and ZXI+ variants are priced at Rs 11.05 lakh and Rs 12.48 lakh, respectively. The inclusion of the mild-hybrid technology has boosted the fuel efficiency to 19.89 km/l. Maruti has strategically chosen to offer the mild-hybrid tech on the top-spec ZXI and ZXI+ manual variants of the Brezza, along with select automatic variants.
Here are the 2024 Maruti Brezza prices (ex-showroom, Delhi):
Manual | Automatic
-|-
LXI | Rs 8.29 lakh | –
VXI | Rs 9.65 lakh | Rs 11.15 lakh*
ZXI | Rs 11.15 lakh* | Rs 12.55 lakh*
ZXI+ | Rs 12.48 lakh* | Rs 13.98 lakh*
*Mild-hybrid tech available
The mild-hybrid technology is available on the VXI AT (Rs 11.15 lakh), ZXI AT (Rs 12.55 lakh), and ZXI+ AT (Rs 13.98 lakh) variants as well.
With the reintroduction of the mild-hybrid tech, the top-spec Brezza’s fuel efficiency has increased from 17.38 km/l to 19.89 km/l. However, this figure is slightly lower than the 20.5 km/l that the Brezza’s 103hp, K15C engine used to achieve before the discontinuation of the mild-hybrid tech. The automatic variants of the Brezza continue to have an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 19.8 km/l. It’s worth noting that the CNG version of the Brezza does not come with mild-hybrid tech or an automatic option.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the Maruti Brezza with mild hybrid technology now outperforms rivals like the Kia Sonet in a similar configuration. The Maruti Fronx remains the most fuel-efficient compact SUV, while the Tata Nexon falls behind in this aspect.
