Being less than 600 km, you can do Mumbai-Goa by the fastest route without making any stops in about 10 – 12 hours. l Mumbai to Goa via NH48 (Mumbai-Pune-Satara-Kolhapur-Belgaum-Goa)

This highway will take you through Panvel, Lonavala, Kamshet, Khandala, Satara, Kolhapur, Sankeshwar, Belgaum, Khanapur, and Mollem. Lohagad Fort, Drive Through Khandala, Karnala Bird Sanctuary, Kaas Pathar Plateau, and Safari at Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary are some of the great attractions along the way.

Most of the roads via NH48 are straight four-lane with great stopovers along the way. This route promises you a smooth ride that is filled with wide roads which can act as a bed to your speed thrills. This route allows enough room to open up the throttle. If you plan to go with your family or to have a night drive, this is the route you should choose. Scenic beauty is the highlight of this route, especially during monsoons. Hills, waterfalls, rivulets, tunnels, and much more will make your journey worth remembering.

l The Bombay Goa Highway via NH66 (Panvel-Khed-Chiplun-Sawantwadi-Goa)

NH66 route is particularly scenic, and also prone to accidents owing to thin roads, sharp turns, and often village cattle blocking the road. There are many places to explore along the way including heritage structures, religious destinations, and historic sites. But, this route is not for everyone, especially if you are prone to motion sickness. Yes, this route is for those who long for more fun and adventure! Ganpatipule, Pen, Tamhini Ghat Waterfalls, Dapoli, Murud, Sindhudurg, etc are some of the best places that will give you memories to cherish for a lifetime.
