Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has unveiled the new Jawa 350 in India, priced at Rs. 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). This model, a substantially updated version of the Jawa Standard, commands an additional premium of around Rs. 12,000.
The most significant enhancement in the motorcycle is the replacement of the smaller 294cc engine with a larger 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 22bhp and 28.2Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.
The dimensions of the bike have undergone changes as well. Notably, the ground clearance has significantly increased to 178mm, the seat height is now 802mm, and the wheelbase has extended to 1,449mm. For comparison, its predecessor had ground clearance, seat height, and wheelbase values of 165mm, 765mm, and 1,368mm, respectively. Additionally, the kerb weight has increased from 182kg to 194kg, attributed to the introduction of a new dual-cradle chassis. Wider tyres (100/90 section in the front and 130/80 section in the rear) have been incorporated to enhance stability, while maintaining the 18-17-inch diameter.
In terms of design, the Jawa 350 features subtle changes, giving it a more robust appearance. The tyres are more substantial, both fenders are more prominent, and the seat appears to have thicker foam. The company has introduced a new Mystique Orange paint scheme, while retaining the Maroon and Black trims.
Competing against rivals like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and the Benelli Imperiale 400, the Jawa 350 offers an upgraded engine and design in its latest iteration.
