Leclerc, who has been racing for Ferrari since 2019, solidifies his commitment to the Scuderia through a freshly signed multi-year contract extension.
While the exact duration of the deal remains undisclosed, it is anticipated that Leclerc will continue with Ferrari beyond the expected 2026 regulations shift, ensuring a sustained partnership beyond the expiration of his current contract in 2024. Delighted by the opportunity, Leclerc remarks, “To race for this team has been my dream since I was three years old,” underlining Ferrari’s profound significance as his second family since joining the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016.
Leclerc’s journey with Ferrari began in 2016 through the Ferrari Driver Academy, eventually leading to his inclusion in the Formula 1 team in 2019. Despite encountering challenges, he has amassed five wins, 30 podiums, and 23 pole positions, demonstrating his remarkable speed and resilience amidst competitive dynamics.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur emphasizes the special connection between Leclerc and the Scuderia, extending beyond the conventional driver-team relationship. Vasseur expresses determination to equip Leclerc with a winning car, acknowledging the driver’s exceptional talents.
