Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the Nexon CNG in the Indian market in the near future, marking the country’s first turbo-petrol CNG offering. This move underscores Tata’s significant investment in the CNG segment. Following the recent launch of the country’s first CNG automatic cars, the Tiago and the Tigor, Tata Motors has now unveiled the Nexon iCNG concept at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Show in Delhi.

The upcoming Tata Nexon CNG promises to deliver a range of innovative features. It will integrate Tata’s distinctive twin-cylinder technology, capable of storing an equivalent of 60 liters of water. With approximately 230 liters of boot space, the Nexon iCNG concept boasts a range of advanced features including a single advanced ECU, direct start in CNG function, seamless fuel switching, modular fuel filter, and faster refueling facilitated by the NGV1 universal type nozzle.

Although Tata has yet to disclose the technical specifications of the Nexon CNG, its petrol-powered variant is equipped with a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generating 118bhp and 170Nm of torque, available with both five-speed manual and AMT transmissions. Once launched, the Nexon iCNG will compete with models such as the Maruti Brezza CNG.
