Tata Passenger Electric Mobility has implemented immediate price reductions for the Tiago EV and Nexon EV, attributing the decision to the decline in battery prices. The Nexon EV’s prices have been slashed by Rs. 1.20 lakh, now starting at Rs. 14.49 lakh for the medium-range version and Rs. 16.99 lakh for the long-range version (ex-showroom). Variant-wise pricing details are yet to be disclosed by the carmaker. Notably, Tata mentioned that the prices of the Punch EV remain unaffected as they had already accounted for the anticipated decrease in battery prices.

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of TPEM, commented, “Battery costs constitute a substantial part of the overall cost of an EV. With battery cell prices having softened in the recent past, and considering their potential reduction in the foreseeable future, we have chosen to proactively pass on the resulting benefits directly to customers. We believe that at these accessible prices, the best-selling Nexon EV and Tiago EV become an even more compelling proposition to attract a larger pool of customers.”
