Tata Motors has launched the Punch EV in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs. 10.99 lakh and going up to Rs. 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric vehicle, based on Tata’s new Acti.ev architecture, marks the company’s fourth electric offering in India, joining the electric versions of the Nexon, Tiago, and Tigor. The Punch EV comes in five trims: Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+, with two range options – Standard and Long Range (LR).

In terms of design, the Punch EV shares similarities with the standard Punch but features distinctive elements, including slim full-width LED DRLs, a front charging port concealed behind the Tata logo, and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Inside, the Punch EV differs significantly from the internal combustion engine model, boasting a 10.25-inch central touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch full-digital instrument console.

The Punch EV’s features include ventilated front seats, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, cornering fog lamps, auto-folding wing mirrors, an electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, and 360-degree cameras. Safety features comprise six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP) as standard, and a blind-spot monitor on the top-spec variant.

Inside, the Punch EV offers bolstered ventilated leatherette seats, mood lights, and an air purifier with AQI display. Notably, it comes with paddle-shifters enabling a 4-level multi-mode regeneration and over-the-air software upgrade capabilities.

On the powertrain front, the Long Range variant boasts a 90 kW motor with 190 Nm of torque, a 35 kWh battery, and an ARAI range of 421 km. The standard Punch EV features a 25 kWh battery, a 69 kW motor, 114 Nm of torque, and a range of 315 km.

The Punch EV includes a standard 3.3 kW wall box charger, with an optional 7.2 kW AC fast charger available for an additional Rs. 50,000.
