Toyota Kirloskar Motor concluded 2023 on a high note, achieving its highest-ever annual sales with over 2.33 lakh units, marking a remarkable 46% year-on-year growth. In December 2023, the automaker recorded sales of 21,372 units, a significant increase compared to the 17,818 units in November of the same year. Additionally, the company exported 1,495 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, a model based on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, to international markets.
Atul Sood, Vice President, Sales and Strategic Marketing at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed satisfaction with the robust sales performance. He acknowledged the positive response from customers and highlighted various customer-centric initiatives, such as the complimentary Roadside Assistance Program for five years, aimed at enhancing the overall ownership experience. Sood attributed the 46% year-on-year growth to consistent month-on-month performance across the product portfolio.
The success was attributed to popular models like the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, New Innova Crysta, and Glanza. Customer engagement events like the “Great 4X4 Expedition by Toyota” played a role in strengthening the appeal of SUV models such as the Hilux, Fortuner, and Legender in their respective segments. The Camry Hybrid also contributed positively to the growth numbers. Noteworthy launches, including the All-New Vellfire and Toyota Rumion, further contributed to closing the year on a record high for the automaker.
