Triumph is set to revive an iconic bike with the teaser of a new motorcycle, sharing the platform with the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660. The global unveiling is scheduled for January 9, 2024, and based on the teaser images, it appears to be the highly anticipated Triumph Daytona 660.

The choice of “Daytona” for the motorcycle’s name is evident from the teaser’s silhouette, which resembles a supersport bike. The inclusion of the number ‘660’ on the fairing indicates that it will be the Triumph Daytona 660. Sharing the platform with the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660, it will feature the same 660cc, in-line 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 81PS and 64Nm. The engine tuning may be adjusted for the Daytona’s character.

Teased previously, the 660cc supersport suggests a slightly more comfortable riding posture, making it more of a sports tourer than a track-focused machine like its predecessor. With a shared engine from an adventure bike and a roadster, Triumph aims to cater to a broader audience, offering a balance of everyday usability and spirited riding.

The global unveiling of the Triumph Daytona 660 is set for January 9, with an expected price around GBP 9,500 (approx Rs 10 lakh), aligning with the pricing of the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660 in the UK. Anticipated to launch in India in early 2024, it will compete with the Aprilia RS 660, Honda CBR650R, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and the upcoming Yamaha R7.
