Scheduled for a February debut, the Skoda Octavia, part of the fourth generation, is set to undergo a mid-life update. Following the footsteps of its larger counterpart, the Superb, which received a new generation at the end of the previous year, this update is expected to bring changes such as redesigned headlamps and a potentially enlarged signature Skoda grille, as hinted by a single teaser image.
Despite being a mid-life update, no alterations in terms of dimensions or the overall silhouette of the car are anticipated. The updates are likely to encompass a revamped cabin, larger displays, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), features that have already been introduced in the Superb.
For the European market, engine options will include petrol, diesel, and LPG. Furthermore, the updated Octavia is expected to introduce a hybrid setup, though with a range that is expected to be less than that of the Superb, distinguishing the two models.
The Octavia’s entry into the Indian market is anticipated in late 2024, following the local launches of the Superb and Kodiaq. The car will be locally assembled at Skoda’s Aurangabad plant.
