MG Motor India has introduced two new trims, Shine Pro and Select Pro, to the Hector lineup, replacing Shine and Smart, respectively. Shine Pro starts at Rs 16 lakh, while Select Pro begins at Rs 17.30 lakh (both ex-showroom, India). The noteworthy update is that the Hector’s starting price is now Rs 14 lakh, a reduction of Rs 95,000 compared to before. This marks the second price cut within six months.
The Shine Pro petrol becomes more affordable by up to Rs 44,000, whereas the Select Pro petrol sees an increase of up to Rs 25,000 over Smart.
The Shine Pro trim replaces the previous Shine variant but comes with additional features like LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED projector headlights, and a 14-inch infotainment screen. On the other hand, the Select Pro trim, positioned above Shine Pro, includes larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and connected car features.
The detailed price list of the Hector includes various trims with petrol and diesel options, ranging from Style to Savvy Pro. Additionally, the Hector Plus lineup also sees updates, with Select Pro replacing Smart and new entry-level Style trims.
Both the Hector and Hector Plus feature either a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine or a 2.0-liter diesel engine, paired with manual or CVT gearboxes. They compete against models like the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700 in the market.
