BMW has unveiled the electric X2 SUV, featuring a 64.8kWh battery pack with a claimed range between 417 to 449 kilometers.

The BMW X2, which originally introduced the coupe SUV concept in the premium compact segment, now debuts its second-generation model. This iteration is notably larger and showcases a distinctive coupe silhouette, a characteristic shared by the fully electric iX2 variant.

The market release is scheduled to commence in March 2024 with the introduction of the all-electric iX2 xDrive30 alongside the X2 M35i xDrive performance model, a petrol option, and a diesel model. Later this year, the lineup will expand to include a second fully electric variant and another diesel-engined model.

In terms of dimensions, the new BMW X2 has increased in length by 194mm to 4,554mm, in width by 21mm to 1,845mm, and in height by 64mm to 1,590mm compared to its predecessor. Its maximum load capacity ranges from 560 to 1,470 litres depending on the model variant, while the iX2 offers between 525 and 1,400 litres of space.

Equipped with two integrated drive units—one at the front axle and one at the rear—the iX2 delivers a system output of 313bhp (including temporary boost) and a torque of 494Nm. Accelerating from 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds, the iX2 xDrive30 boasts a top speed of 180kmph. With a battery capacity of 64.8 kWh, the iX2 achieves a claimed range of 417 to 449 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
