CEAT Tyres has introduced the SportRad and CrossRad series of steel radial motorcycle tires in the replacement market. The SportRad is designed for sporty road use, while the CrossRad serves daily commuters and offers off-roading capabilities. Both series feature steel-belted radial construction.

The current sizes available for SportRad are 110/70 R17 and 150/60 R17. After July, additional variants of SportRad (SS and ST) will be launched, catering to premium, multi-cylinder bikes with sizes ranging from 160-section to 240-section. The SportRad is priced at Rs 12,500 for a set.

CrossRad is currently available in the size 140/60 R17. The CrossRad AT, with a slightly different tread pattern, will be launched later in sizes ranging from 130-section to 180-section. The CrossRad is priced at Rs 4,300 for a set.

CEAT’s entry into this segment is significant considering the booming replacement market, constituting 60 percent of the company’s sales. With OEMs contributing 27 percent and exports the remaining 13 percent, CEAT aims to meet the needs of individual riders in this expanding market.

Lakshmi Narayanan B, Chief Marketing Officer at CEAT, highlighted the growth of the performance segment in the motorcycle market, which has increased from around 1.2 percent to 2.5-3 percent over the last 5-6 years. This segment is growing rapidly, making it a strategic focus for the company.
