The retail sales of Hyundai’s sporty N Line models in India are gradually on the rise. The introduction of the N Line range began with the i20 in 2021, followed by the Venue N Line in 2022. Both models have collectively achieved sales exceeding 10,000 units in 2023, according to Hyundai. The automaker now plans to expand its N Line portfolio in India with the launch of additional models.

The anticipated launch of the Creta N Line is expected in the coming months, marking the third N Line model for the Indian market. Hyundai aims to capitalize further on the popularity of the Creta SUV, with the N Line version based on the upcoming Creta facelift.

In a recent media interaction, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai India, expressed satisfaction with the niche appeal of the N Line products and hinted at the imminent launch of more N Line models in India. The company anticipates sales to reach 15,000-20,000 units in the next few years.

While the specific N Line model following the Creta N Line remains undisclosed, Hyundai’s focus on the Creta suggests a continuation of the N Line design theme. Anticipated modifications include minor tweaks to the front bumper, grille, and front chin, featuring N Line-specific red accents, gloss black elements, and faux-brushed aluminum details. The vehicle is expected to showcase a unique alloy wheel design, side skirts, N Line badges, and styling enhancements to the rear bumper. Internally, an all-black theme, N Line-specific gear lever, and a steering wheel with red stitching are anticipated.

Regarding the powertrain, the Creta N Line is likely to feature the new 1.5-liter, 160hp turbo-petrol engine recently introduced in the Creta facelift. This engine, paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, is expected to offer sportier dynamics, including a sportier suspension setup, a distinctive exhaust note, and tweaked steering dynamics, in line with other N Line models.

Looking ahead, Hyundai’s upcoming SUV launches in 2023 and beyond include the Creta facelift, Creta N Line, a facelift for the Alcazar, and potentially the facelifted Tucson in 2024, based on the international reveal in the previous year.
