Mercedes-Benz India has revealed plans for the launch of GLS facelift on January 8, 2024, kicking off a series of new releases for the German luxury brand in the upcoming year. The pricing details for the refreshed flagship SUV will be disclosed at the conclusion of the brand’s Annual Press Conference 2024, scheduled to commence at 12:30 pm.
The GLS facelift’s launch event is set to take place in Delhi on January 8, with anticipated design alterations and interior enhancements. In terms of exterior changes, compared to the previous GLS model, the facelift showcases four horizontal louvres in the grille with a Silver Shadow finish, a redesigned front bumper featuring air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds, and updated tail-lamps with three horizontal block patterns forming a new motif.
While exterior updates are notable, the interior sees more significant changes. The highlight is the upgraded MBUX infotainment system. Additional modifications include glossy brown lime wood trim, a permanent low-speed 360-degree camera, and new upholstery choices such as Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather.
The GLS facelift is expected to retain the current engine options in India, featuring a 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine in the GLS 450 4Matic and a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel unit in the GLS 400d 4Matic. Both versions will come standard with the 9-speed automatic gearbox and the 4Matic AWD system. Anticipated prices start at over Rs 1 crore, ex-showroom, India.
Mercedes-Benz India has an ambitious lineup for 2024, planning to introduce nine new models, with the GLS facelift being the initial launch in this series.
