Volvo India is preparing to broaden its electric vehicle offerings in the country, with the confirmation of the launch of its all-electric flagship SUV, the EX90, alongside its entry-level counterpart, the EX30, in 2025. There are indications that these models will likely undergo local assembly in India.
Presently, Volvo offers two electric models in the Indian market, namely the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. The forthcoming electric SUVs include the seven-seater EX90, which debuted globally in 2022. The top-tier variant of the EX90 features a 111kWh battery pack, boasting a claimed range of 600km on a single charge. Power is delivered by two electric motors situated on each axle, producing up to 500bhp and 900Nm of torque.
Conversely, the entry-level EX30 will be equipped with a 69kWh battery pack and a twin-motor setup, offering a claimed range of up to 474km on a full charge.
In related updates, Volvo has rebranded its EV lineup globally, with the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge now identified as the EX40 and EC40, respectively. Additionally, the power output for both models has been enhanced to 436bhp.
