The recently launched Yamaha MT-03 is priced at Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. This pricing is attributed to the fact that the MT-03 is brought into India through CBU import from Indonesia. Alongside the MT-03, the manufacturer also unveiled the R3 on the same day.The design philosophy of the MT-03 bears a resemblance to the popular Yamaha MT-15 in the Indian market, featuring a similarly aggressive face, albeit with larger and more muscular bodywork. Weighing 167kg and boasting a manageable seat height of 780mm, the MT-03 is positioned as a lightweight and user-friendly bike.In terms of specifications, the MT-03 shares similarities with its faired sibling, the R3, including a USD fork and identical components under the skin. This includes the chassis, subframe, and a 321cc parallel-twin motor generating 42hp and 29.5Nm. For a detailed riding experience, more information about the Yamaha MT-03 can be found here.Like the R3, the MT-03 maintains simplicity in terms of features, offering dual-channel ABS and an LCD instrument console. Positioned with a similar intent, the closest competitor to the MT-03 is the KTM Duke 390, priced at Rs 3.1 lakh. In the Indian market, there is currently no other twin-cylinder street naked bike in this segment, although this landscape may evolve in the future with Aprilia potentially developing a naked counterpart to the recently launched RS 457.
